History
Located in the calm and serene surroundings of Adaiyur, a village three kilometers from the Temple town of Tiruvannamalai, the school has been successful in training healthcare professionals in batches right from its year of inception in 2004.
Our foundress late Mother Mary Garson was a qualified Psychologist. Looking at the appalling conditions of two elderly women, while visiting their house in 1953, she decided to care for the old, frail and sick. That became the stepping stone to the founding of the Congregation (1959), committed to loving service, respect for human dignity, nurturing the skills of an individual and valuing their uniqueness.
She was instrumental too through her magnanimity, benevolence and support in laying the foundation for the Nursing School for Women way back in 2004.
Sr. Inigo Roche, the then Prioress and many others in her team including
Sr. Metilda, the Prioress, Sr. Angela and the late Sr. Clara, worked together in the early years to bring it to shape and make it functional. We are grateful for all their toil and pioneering efforts.
